take flight
Soar with us in an uplifting performance inspired by flight in all its forms. In collaboration with Anglo-Lebanese Violinist and Artistic Director of United Strings of Europe, Julian Azkoul, we explore the exhilaration, freedom and wonder of the open sky.
Take wing with Vaughan Williams’ beloved The Lark Ascending, re-imagined for choir and solo violin, and with Shaw’s and the swallow, a tender reflection on migration and refuge. Circle the world with Clyne’s Orbits, and explore the dream of human flight in Whitacre’s Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine.
Ultimately, our flight returns us back to solid ground with a renewed sense of hope.
The performance will last around 70 minutes without an interval.
