Hope on earth
Join us for a powerful performance of songs of protest, change, and hope, as Kantos marks its 10th anniversary. For the first time, we unite with the Royal Northern College of Music Chamber Choir and the University of Manchester Chamber Choir, bringing together massed voices for an evening celebrating Kantos’ legacy so far, and the future of choral music in the North.
In true Kantos style, brand new pop arrangements sit alongside seminal choral masterpieces; from Aaron Copland to Bob Dylan, and Arnold Schoenberg to Louis Armstrong. Tallis’ monumental Spem in Alium sits at the heart of the programme; experience this 40-part masterpiece in surround-sound, in the glorious acoustic of Manchester Monastery.
When the final song fades, join us to continue the celebration with a post-concert toast to a decade of Kantos.
The performance will last around one hour without an interval.
