Kantos Chamber Choir
First class, a very impressive vocal sound and inspirational energy
— The Ida Carroll Trust

Kantos Chamber Choir was founded in 2015 by Elspeth Slorach. The choir comprises the top choral singers across the North West who have begun or are about to begin their professional careers. Since its formation, Kantos has risen to be at the forefront of choral singing in Manchester. The choir prides itself on the originality of its concerts, performing both well-known and new compositions in innovative and exciting ways. We are proud to be the associate choir for Collective31. Our breadth of repertoire has included works by Handel, Brahms, Martin, Macmillan and composers from the North West.

In addition to our own concerts, Kantos regularly performs for the BBC Radio 4’s Daily Service and Sunday Worship programmes. Other recent engagements include a recording with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for a Radio 3 drama production of Anthony Burgess' 'Oedipus'; two recordings with the RNCM Wind Orchestra and an album of contemporary Christmas carols under the record label Prima Facie. Upcoming events include a tour around the North of England, an album of premiere recordings in celebration of the centenary of the suffragette movement and a performance at Chester Storyhouse.
