Drop Drop

Water: essential, powerful, and increasingly under threat; it lies at the heart of life itself.

Dive in to a choral exploration of our relationship with water, reflecting both its immense power and its moments of profound stillness. With music spanning the centuries, we float from plainchant and Renaissance motets to traditional sea songs and a Kantos-commissioned work by Shruthi Rajasekar. Weaving throughout are four settings of Drop, Drop, Slow Tears by Phineas Fletcher, each offering a distinct perspective on this heart-rending text.

As the choir moves throughout the venue, each work flows seamlessly into the next, inviting the audience into a continuous soundworld that mirrors the movement of water itself.

At Bolton Abbey, take in the beauty of the historic ruins and the river flowing through the landscape before joining us in The Priory Church.

At Victoria Baths, experience a bird’s-eye view of the performance as the choir sings in and around the magnificent empty swimming pool.
