Audition to join kantos

Kantos is a pool of singers who are selected on a project by project basis. Auditions to be a member of the choir occur twice a year. (Current members are allowed to re-audition if they wish to be heard by the panel again.) The next audition date is 9.30 - 1pm on Saturday 4th May 2019 in Manchester with Ellie Slorach and external panellist Martin Bussey.

In the audition, you will perform one solo piece which you must choose from the repertoire list below. This does not need to be from memory. An accompanist will be provided. (Please keep your choice in the original key.) There will also be a rigorous sight-reading test as Kantos relies heavily on strong musicianship and quick reading ability.

Please note that there is a £5 fee for anyone who auditions in order to cover administration costs. This will need to be paid in cash upon arrival at the audition.

If you wish to apply for an audition, please send a CV with a short biography detailing choral and solo singing experience to our manager, Claire Shercliff, at kantoschamberchoir@gmail.com. Please also indicate your availability between 9.30-1pm on Saturday 4th May.

Deadline to apply: Midnight on Friday 26th April. Successful applicants will be given an audition slot by the end of Sunday 28th April.

Good luck!
